Alloy C2000 (UNS N06200, Werkstoff Nr. 2.4675), also known as Hastelloy Alloy C-2000, is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-copper material with a nominal balance of Ni 59%, Cr 23%, Mo 16%, and Cu 1.6%. The deliberate copper addition sets Nickel Alloy C-2000 apart from every other Ni-Cr-Mo sheet product on the market. Sheet thickness ranges from 0.5 to 6.0 mm; plate thickness from 6.0 to 50 mm. Widths span 1000 to 2500 mm, lengths from 2000 to 6000 mm. Available forms include hot-rolled plate, cold-rolled sheet, strip, coil, and foil. Surface finishes cover 2B, 2D, BA, No.1, No.4, and mirror. Solution annealing at 1149°C (2100°F) with rapid quench restores full corrosion performance after fabrication. The melting range falls between 1328-1358°C (2422-2476°F). Minimum tensile strength is 690 MPa (100 ksi), and elongation reaches 45%, giving cold-rolled sheets strong formability for vessel linings and pressed components.

Copper at 1.6% gives Hastelloy C2000 sheet a dual advantage: Mo handles reducing acids (H₂SO₄, HCl, HF), while high Cr (23%) resists oxidising media contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen. That dual resistance makes the Alloy C2000 plate the single most versatile Ni-Cr-Mo flat product for mixed-acid chemical processing environments. The critical pitting temperature in acidified 6% FeCl₃ (ASTM G48) reaches 145°C, and the critical crevice temperature hits 80°C. In seawater crevice tests (U.S. Navy, LaQue Labs), C2000 showed zero attack in both still and flowing conditions after 180 days. These results drive purchasing decisions where plate cladding and structural panels face chloride-rich, mixed-acid service.
