Hastelloy C-2000 Welding Electrode (ENiCrMo-17) Supplier in Mumbai, India
Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified importer, stockist, and supplier of ENiCrMo-17 welding electrodes in Mumbai, India. We supply high-performance consumables engineered to withstand aggressive corrosive media in critical industrial pressure vessel applications. ENiCrMo-17 is the only nickel-chromium-molybdenum SMAW electrode with a deliberate copper addition (~1.6% Cu).
This copper provides the weld deposit with greatly enhanced sulfuric acid resistance and dual-environment (oxidising+reducing) corrosion protection that no other C-family electrode can match. This electrode, which is classified as AWS A5.11/ASME SFA 5.11 and ASME Code Case 2334 (UNS W86200), contains about 59% nickel, 23% chromium, 16% molybdenum, and 1.6% copper, with a maximum carbon content of 0.02%. It is also referred to as the high amount of chromium (23%) protects against oxidising substances, while the high amount of molybdenum (16%) protects against reducing acids, and the copper.
Available in five diameters are 2.0, 2.4, 3.2, 4.0, and 4.8 mm, with an electrode length of 350 mm (14 in). The electrode can be used in all positions up to 3.2 mm, and it flattens above that. DCEP polarity. A maximum interpass temperature of 93°C (200°F) is recommended. Minimum tensile strength reaches 690 MPa (100 ksi) with 30% elongation. This nickel alloy welding electrode is good for joining different types of Ni-Cr-Mo alloys and stainless steels that contain molybdenum, and it can also be used for adding layers to carbon steels.
Industrial applications of it are chemical processing (sulfuric acid duty), pharmaceuticals, FGD/pollution control, offshore marine, and pulp and paper. EN ISO 14172 is equivalent to ENi6200/DIN 2.4675. Kennblatt 9677.03. Every batch adheres to MTC 3.1, as per EN 10204.

Industrial Welding Applications of ENiCrMo-17 Hastelloy C-2000 Electrodes
- ENiCrMo-17 is mostly used for sulphuric acid reactor vessel welding. The 1.6% copper in ENiCrMo-17 enhances sulfuric acid resistance compared to C-276 or C-Mixed-acid environments (HNO₃, FeCl₃, HCl, H₂SO₄). Weld and overlay carbon steel reactor walls and heat exchanger tubesheets.
- Reactor vessel welding necessitates corrosion resistance and ultra-high purity. The processing pipeline for API production uses aggressive solvents. C-2000 weld deposits are electropolish-compatible for sanitary applications.
- Cu helps FGD scrubber inlet ducting and absorber tower construction. H₂SO₄ condensate from wet FGD systems damages equipment. C-2000 can handle both oxidising (SO₃, dissolved O₂) and reducing (acid condensate) conditions in one weld layer.
- The system applies to both seawater-cooled heat exchangers and subsea components. In 180-day crevice corrosion tests, C-2000 showed zero attack in both still and flowing seawater. The ~59% Ni deposit provides chloride SCC immunity.
- Repairs to chlorine dioxide bleach plant machinery, ClO₂ generators, washer drum welds, and pulp digester overlays. While 16% molybdenum protects against reducing acids, 23% chromium resists oxidation in chlorine dioxide conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Price of Hastelloy C-2000 Welding Electrode per kg in India?
What Makes ENiCrMo-17 Different from ENiCrMo-4 (C-276) and ENiCrMo-10 (C-22) Electrodes?
ENiCrMo-17 is the only NiCrMo electrode with deliberate copper (~1.6% Cu) for enhanced sulfuric acid resistance. ENiCrMo-4 (C-276) has higher W content (~3.75%) for reducing-acid focus. ENiCrMo-10 (C-22) has higher Cr-to-Mo ratio for mixed-acid versatility. Neither contains intentional copper.
Can ENiCrMo-17 Be Used for Weld Overlay on Carbon Steel?
Yes. Haynes International confirms C-2000 welding rod deposits are used for overlay and cladding of carbon steels where corrosion resistance is needed. No butter layer required. Use 4.0 or 4.8 mm diameter in flat position for overlay.
What Welding Positions Can Be Used with Hastelloy C2000 (ENiCrMo-17) Electrode?
Electrodes through 3.2 mm (1/8 in) work in all positions including vertical-up and overhead. Electrodes above 3.2 mm (4.0 and 4.8 mm) are restricted to flat position only. For out-of-position work on C-2000, select 2.4 or 3.2 mm diameter.
