HASTELLOY® G-30® Welding Wire (ERNiCrMo-11) Supplier in India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001-certified supplier and stockist of HASTELLOY® G-30® welding wire in India. We supply high-quality ERNiCrMo-11 filler metal, which is strictly classified under AWS A5.14 / ASME SFA-5.14 standards, ensuring our customers receive the reliable performance and chemical resistance required for their most demanding industrial welding applications.

Hastelloy G-30 welding wire deposits 30% Cr, the highest chromium content of any Hastelloy filler metal. Its nominal weld deposit carries 43% Ni, 30% Cr, 15% Fe, 5% Mo, 3% W, 2% Cu, and 2% Co (UNS N06030). Ni-Cr-Mo fillers with 16–22% chromium often struggle with oxidising agents, but this alloy’s higher chromium content provides better resistance to acids. That very high balance of chromium and iron is different from C-type G-30 filler wire, which focuses on having more chromium to create a protective oxide layer that can withstand concentrated nitric acid and wet-process phosphoric acid. Governed by ASME Section IX with F-Number F-43 and A-Number A-11 designations, this alloy ensures your critical welding procedures remain compliant and exceptionally durable.

There are a variety of industrial uses, including wet-process phosphoric acid facilities, nitric acid service, HNO₃/HF pickling, and bleaching systems for pulp and paper. An EN 10204/3.1B mill test certificate, a PMI report, and complete heat traceability are included with each and every spool and rod that was shipped. Both GTAW and GMAW have their own unique set of welding parameters that include current, voltage, and gas settings.

AWS Classification Explained: ERNiCrMo-11

The AWS designation ERNiCrMo-11 follows the naming convention of AWS A5.14. Each segment carries a specific meaning, broken down in the table below.
Code Segment Meaning Details
E Electrode Can carry welding current
R Rod Supplied as solid wire or straight-cut rod
Ni Nickel-base alloy Approximately 43% Ni balance
Cr Chromium Principal alloying element (28.0–31.5%)
Mo Molybdenum Principal alloying element (4.0–6.0%)
-11 Sequence number Identifies the G-30 composition
This filler is distinguished from C-type wires like ERNiCrMo-4 (C-276) and ERNiCrMo-10 (C-22) by the -11 suffix. G-30’s 30% Cr and 15% Fe distinguish it from C-type fillers’ 15–22% Cr and 4–7% Fe. The alloy’s strength shifts from reducing acids to oxidising acids since Mo is reduced to 5% (vs 13–16% in C-types).

Chemical Composition of ERNiCrMo-7 Weld Deposit (%)

The weld deposit chemistry of ERNiCrMo-11, per AWS A5.14, is given below. The 30% Cr is the highest of any standard Hastelloy filler metal.
Element Nickel (Ni) Chromium (Cr) Iron (Fe) Molybdenum (Mo) Tungsten (W) Cobalt (Co) Copper (Cu) Niobium + Tantalum (Nb+Ta) Manganese (Mn) Silicon (Si) Carbon (C) Phosphorus (P) Sulphur (S)
Specification (wt%) Balance (~43) 28.0–31.5 13.0–17.0 4.0–6.0 1.5–4.0 5.0 max 1.0–2.4 Not specified in AWS A5.14 1.50 max 0.80 max 0.03 max 0.04 max 0.02 max
Chromium at 30% creates the thickest protective layer of any Ni-Cr-Mo filler, which gives G-30 an advantage in acidic environments. Iron at 15% strengthens that film while lowering alloy cost below pure Ni-Cr-Mo.

Mechanical Properties of Hastelloy G-30 Welding Wire

Typical all-weld-metal mechanical properties of ERNiCrMo-11 deposits in the as-welded condition are listed below in the following table.
Property Tensile Strength Yield Strength, 0.2% Offset Elongation in 50 mm Hardness Density (base alloy)
Typical Value ≥ 620 MPa (100 ksi) 310 MPa (45 ksi) 30% 90 HRB (approx.) 8.22 g/cm³ (0.297 lb/in³)

Mill test results typically exceed the minimums listed above. The 30% elongation gives G-30 weld deposits strong ductility, so joints can absorb thermal cycling without cracking.

Base Metal Compatibility of Hastelloy G-30 Welding Wire

Hastelloy G-30 Welding Wire joins nickel alloys, carbon steel, B581 rods and bars, B582 plates and sheets, B619 welded pipes, B622 seamless pipes, B626 welded tubes, and B622 seamless pipes.
Base Metal Spec. Grade ASME P-No. ASTM Standard / Notes
Nickel Alloy Alloy G-30 (Hastelloy equivalent) P-45 ASTM B581, B582, B619, B622, B626
Dissimilar Metal Joining Nickel Alloys, Stainless, & Carbon Steel N/A Used for joining dissimilar alloys
Super-Austenitic & Super Duplex 254 SMO, AL-6XN, 25-6Mo, Super Duplex 2507 Various High corrosion-resistant alloys
G-30 is recommended for 254 SMO, AL-6XN, and 25-6Mo and 6-7% Mo super-austenitic stainless steels. The G-30 deposit overmatches each base metal in Cr content with 30% Cr and 5% Mo, making the weld more oxidising corrosion-resistant than the parent plate. G-30 works well in super duplex. 2507 (25Cr-7Mo) joints where weld Cr exceeds base metal Cr.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Price of Hastelloy G-30 (ERNiCrMo-11) Welding Wire per kg in India?
Hastelloy G-30 is a speciality filler metal, so pricing varies with diameter, form, order volume, and nickel market conditions. Contact Nicorex Alloys with your specific requirements for a competitive per-kg quotation.
30% Cr maximises the thickness and stability of the passive oxide film in oxidising acids such as HNO₃, H₃PO₄, and FeCl₃ solutions. G-30 sacrifices Mo for Cr to dominate oxidising environments.
Yes. G-30 with 30% Cr and 5% Mo overmatches both 254 SMO (20Cr-6Mo) and AL-6XN (21Cr-6Mo) in Cr content, giving the weld superior oxidising corrosion resistance.
Yes. G-30 is suitable for duplex grades, including 2507 (25Cr-7Mo). The 30% Cr deposit exceeds the base metal’s Cr level, so the weld won’t be the preferential corrosion site in oxidising media.
G-30 has only 5% Mo (vs 16% in C-276 and 28.5% in B-3). Molybdenum is the primary element that resists reducing acids. In HCl or reducing H₂SO₄, G-30 corrodes significantly faster than B-3 or C-276 filler metals.
The base alloy (UNS N06030) is covered by ASTM B581 (rod/bar), B582 (plate/sheet/strip), B619 (welded pipe), B622 (seamless pipe/tube), and B626 (welded tube).
Yes. Nicorex Alloys maintains ready stock of ERNiCrMo-11 in TIG straight-cut rods and MIG spools. Contact us for current inventory, pricing, and estimated lead times for non-stock diameters.
The main users are fertiliser plants (for phosphoric acid evaporation), chemical processing (for nitric acid reactors), stainless steel pickling (for HNO₃/HF lines), pulp and paper (for bleach plant piping), and fabricators joining 6Mo stainless or super duplex 2507 assemblies.
