Hastelloy C2000 welding wire is a copper-enhanced nickel filler wire that consists of 23% Cr, 16% Mo, and 1.6% Cu in a single solid wire rated to UNS N06200 and Werkstoff Nr. 2.4675. This welding wire can handle both oxidising and reducing acids. The 1.6% copper addition is what separates C-2000 welding wire from every other C-type filler available. Copper lifts sulfuric acid performance across dilute-to-concentrated ranges and adds hydrofluoric acid (HF) resistance, while 23% Cr matches C-22 in oxidising media and 16% Mo matches C-276 in reducing service. ERNiCrMo-17 welds Hastelloy C-2000 base metal to itself and is equally effective for dissimilar joints to C-276, C-22, 625, and austenitic stainless steels. ASME Code Case 2337 covers this filler wire with F-Number F-43.

Mill-certified weld deposits typically exceed these minimums by 10–15%. C-2000 weld metal is not age-hardenable.

No preheat is needed. Interpass temperature must stay at or below 93°C (200°F). Use 100% argon shielding for GTAW. For GMAW, use argon-based mixtures only: 100% Ar, Ar/He, or Ar/He/CO₂ with no more than 2.5% CO₂. Pure CO₂ is not permitted.
