UNS S32760 (Werkstoff 1.4501, EN X2CrNiMoCuWN 25-7-4, trade name Zeron 100) is a Cu-W enhanced super duplex flat product manufactured to ASTM A240 / ASME SA240. S32760 contains carefully controlled additions of copper (0.5-1.0%) and tungsten (0.5-1.0%) to enhance its performance in service. Copper stabilises the passive film in reducing acids (H₂SO₄, HCl), while tungsten raises the pitting resistance index through the PRENW formula: %Cr + 3.3×%Mo + 16×%N + 1.65×%W ≥ 42.

S32760 offers a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa (80 ksi) and tensile strength of 750 MPa, with 25% elongation for good ductility. Hardness is limited to 310 HB (32 HRC max). The alloy is ferromagnetic and has a density of 7800 kg/m³ (0.28 lb/in³), with a melting point of about 1350°C. It is approved to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service and supplied as Grade F55 forgings per ASTM A182.

Super Duplex S32760 is available as sheet from 0.5-6.0 mm thick and plate from 6.0-80 mm. Standard widths range from 1000 to 2500 mm, with lengths up to 6000 mm. Products include hot-rolled plate, cold-rolled sheet, strip, coil, chequered plate, and clad plate (to ASTM A264). Material is supplied solution annealed and pickled, with No.1, 2B, or BA finishes, and ships with EN 10204 3.1 MTC, PMI, and full traceability.

The copper addition is the primary differentiator. Cu catalyses passive film stability in reducing acids. In dilute H₂SO₄ and HCl, where S32750 and 316L fail, S32760 maintains low corrosion rates. Sulphide SCC resistance is outstanding, making Zeron 100 plates preferred for sour wells with mixed acid contamination.

Hot Working, Cold Forming & Heat Treatment of Super Duplex S32760

Hot form at 1020-1230°C. Solution anneal at ≥1100°C + rapid water quench. Cold forming needs higher forces than Duplex 2205, an intermediate anneal for severe work. Weld by GTAW, SMAW, or SAW using Zeron 100X matching filler (Cu + W). ERNiCrMo-14 for dissimilar joints. Ar + N₂ shielding. Interpass ≤100°C. No preheat or PWHT. ASTM A923 testing is recommended post-weld.
