Hastelloy C22 Flanges Supplier in Mumbai, India – ASTM B564 UNS N06022
Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified importer, stockist, and supplier of Hastelloy C22 flanges in Mumbai, India. We supply Alloy C-22 flanges in conformance to the ASTM B564 / ASME SB564 standard.
Alloy C-22 (Werkstoff 2.4602, Nicrofer 5621) flanges consist of approximately 56% nickel, 20–22.5% chromium, 12.5–14.5% molybdenum, and 2.5–3.5% tungsten. It has an ultra-low carbon (0.010% max) and silicon (0.08% max). Hastelloy C22 flanges resist both oxidising and reducing acids while providing the strongest wet chlorine performance in the Ni-Cr-Mo family. They prevent HAZ precipitation, making C22 flanges suitable for as-welded service without PWHT. The higher chromium content (20–22.5% Cr vs 14.5–16.5% in C276) gives UNS N06022 flanges superior pitting resistance in ferric chloride, chlorinated solvents, and FGD scrubber environments.
Hastelloy C22 flanges have a minimum tensile strength of 690 MPa (100 ksi) and are available in many types, including weld neck raised face (WNRF), blind raised face (BLRF), slip-on raised face (SORF), socket weld raised face (SWRF), threaded, lap joint, long weld neck (LWN), ring type joint (RTJ), spectacle blind, and reducing flanges. We provide these flanges in sizes from NPS 1/2 inch to 24 inches in accordance with ASME B16.5 and from NPS 26 inches to 60 inches in accordance with ASME B16.47. They are offered in pressure classes ranging from Class 150 through Class 2500. Can be supplied in compliance with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 where specified by the project, subject to hardness and environmental requirements. This makes them suitable for sour service applications. Each flange is supplied with EN 10204/3.1B material test certificates (MTC) and is subjected to positive material identification (PMI) to ensure full traceability and conformance to specifications.

Chemical Composition of Hastelloy C22 Flanges
| Element | Nickel (Ni) | Chromium (Cr) | Molybdenum (Mo) | Tungsten (W) | Iron (Fe) | Cobalt (Co) | Vanadium (V) | Silicon (Si) | Carbon (C) | Manganese (Mn) | Phosphorus (P) | Sulfur (S) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alloy C22 | Balance (~56) | 20.0 – 22.5 | 12.5 – 14.5 | 2.5 – 3.5 | 2.0 – 6.0 | 2.5 max | 0.35 max | 0.08 max | 0.015 max | 0.50 max | 0.02 max | 0.02 max |
The 20–22.5% Cr (vs 14.5–16.5% in C276) is the defining chemistry difference. Higher chromium gives C22 flanges stronger resistance to oxidising acids, ferric chloride, and wet chlorine gas. Mo at 12.5–14.5% combined with W at 2.5–3.5% still covers reducing-acid and crevice corrosion service. The 0.010% C and 0.08% Si ceilings prevent grain boundary precipitates in the weld HAZ.
Mechanical Properties of ASTM B564 UNS N06022 Flanges
| Tensile Strength (min) | Yield 0.2% Offset (min) | Elongation (min) | Hardness (max) | NACE Hardness (max) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 690 MPa (100 ksi) | 310 MPa (45 ksi) | 45% | 100 HRB | HRC 35 |
Solution annealing at 1121°C (2050°F) followed by water quench sets these properties. The 45% elongation gives excellent forgeability for complex flange geometries, including long weld neck and reducing types.

Pressure-Temperature Rating of Hastelloy C22 Flanges
UNS N06022 flanges fall under Material Group 3.12 in ASME B16.5. A Class 150 flange rated at 19.6 bar at ambient derates with rising temperature; Class 300 starts at 51.1 bar (740 psi). The maximum recommended continuous service temperature for corrosion applications is 677°C (1250°F). Above 538°C (1000°F), allowable pressures fall significantly. For example, Class 150 drops to roughly 9.6 bar at 650°C, while Class 300 reduces to about 25.1 bar at the same temperature. NACE MR0175 limits hardness to HRC 35 max for sour service.
| Class | Ambient Rating | At 538°C (1000°F) | At 650°C (1250°F) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150 | 19.6 bar (284 psi) | Significant derate begins | ~9.6 bar (~139 psi) |
| 300 | 51.1 bar (740 psi) | Significant derate begins | ~25.1 bar (~364 psi) |
