Available Grades of Inconel Flanges
Nicorex Alloys stocks Inconel Alloy flanges in 4 grades, each for a specific temperature or corrosion challenge.
Inconel 600 Flange
This nickel-chromium alloy (76% Ni, 15.5% Cr) has an oxidation resistance up to 2000°F. It resists chloride stress cracking. Inconel 600 is widely used in furnace parts, chemical vessels, and nuclear service.
Inconel 625 Flange
This is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy that offers a fatigue strength from cryogenic to 1800°F. It is NACE MR0175 listed. Inconel 625 is the most used grade for oil and gas, marine, and chemical flanges.
Inconel 718 Flange
Inconel 718 is a precipitation-hardenable alloy with yield strength ~1035 MPa (aged) and creep resistance up to 1300°F (704°C). It is used in tough operating conditions for gas turbine and aerospace flanges.
Inconel 800 Flange
Inconel 800/800H/800HT flanges are nickel‑iron‑chromium alloy flanges designed for high-temperature service. These flanges offer excellent resistance to oxidation, carburisation, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 800 series flanges are ideal for furnace, petrochemical, and heat‑treatment applications up to about 900°C.
Inconel 825 Flange
Inconel 825 flanges are nickel‑iron‑chromium‑molybdenum‑copper alloy flanges. They provide good resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and many other aggressive acids, as well as stress‑corrosion cracking and pitting in chloride‑containing environments. Their balanced composition provides good strength and long‑term corrosion protection in chemical processing, oil and gas, and pollution control applications from mildly elevated to moderately high temperatures.
Industries and Applications of Inconel Flanges
- Aerospace and Gas Turbine: Grades 718 and 625 serve exhaust flanges, turbine casings, and combustion chamber joints.
- Oil and Gas: Inconel 625 flanges are used in sour gas wellheads, subsea manifolds, and refinery heat exchangers.
- Chemical and Petrochemical: Reactor vessel and acid-handling flanges for sulfuric, phosphoric, and mixed acid service.
- Power Generation and Nuclear: Grades 600 and 690 serve nuclear reactor flanges and steam generator connections.
- Marine and Pollution Control: Seawater system and FGD scrubber flanges.
