Nickel Alloy Flanges

Nickel Alloy Flanges Supplier in Mumbai, India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified supplier, stockist, and dealer of nickel flanges in Mumbai, India. We stock Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 flanges from 1/2 to 48 inch NB under ASTM B564 / ASME SB564 in classes 150 through 2500 per ANSI/ASME B16.5.

Both grades have a minimum combined content of nickel and cobalt of at least 99.0%, as well as resistance to caustic alkalis in all concentrations. Nickel 200 has a maximum content of 0.15% carbon, while Nickel 201 has a maximum content of 0.02% carbon, which requires operation to be above 600°F (315°C) to prevent graphitisation from occurring. Mill test certificates to EN 10204/3.1B are included with all shipments.

We stock a wide range of Nickel Flanges in multiple grades, including:

What are Nickel Flanges?

Nickel flanges are forged parts made to ASTM B564 specifications, utilising commercially pure wrought nickel with a minimum of 99% Ni content for excellent resistance to corrosion in high-temperature chemical piping systems. They interconnect pipes, valves, and apparatus within a piping system. Nickel 200 serves below 600°F (315°C). Above this temperature, carbon causes graphitisation at grain boundaries. Nickel 201 (0.02% max C) is ASME Section VIII Div 1 approved up to 1250°F (677°C). Both grades provide 90 to 120 HB hardness for gasket seating.

Available Grades of Nickel Flanges

Nicorex Alloys stocks nickel flanges in 2 grades:

Nickel 200 Flange

Nickel 200 is a commercially pure nickel alloy with high corrosion resistance and good mechanical strength. It is used in chemical and industrial applications at temperatures below 600°F (315°C).

Nickel 201 Flange

Nickel 201 is a pure nickel alloy with very low carbon content. It is designed for use in high-temperature and corrosive environments. It is found in chemical, food, and industrial equipment because it resists corrosion and performs well above 600°F (315°C).

Frequently Asked Questions

What ASTM Standards Cover Nickel Flanges?
ASTM B564 / ASME SB564 covers Nickel 200 and 201 flanges. ANSI/ASME B16.5 covers NPS 1/2 to 24 inches.
Nickel 201 is required when service exceeds 600°F (315°C). Nickel 200 undergoes graphitisation above this due to higher carbon. Nickel 201 is ASME approved up to 1250°F.

Use ERNi-1 filler per AWS A5.14 for GTAW and ENi-1 per AWS A5.11 for SMAW. Keep interpass below 300°F. Do not use oxyacetylene welding.

Nickel flanges are used in NaOH manufacturing and handling. Caustic evaporator connections, NaOH storage tank nozzle flanges, chlor-alkali electrolysis cell piping, and concentrated caustic transfer piping use them. Chlor-alkali facilities need nickel 201 weld neck flanges for evaporator pipe connections above 315°C.
