Inconel 625 Flanges

Inconel 625 Flanges Supplier in Mumbai, India - ASTM B564 UNS N06625

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified supplier of Inconel 625 flanges in Mumbai, India. UNS N06625 (Werkstoff 2.4856) flanges are forged to ASTM B564 / ASME SB564.

Inconel 625 flanges are very strong and highly corrosion‑resistant. Its chemical composition contains at least 58% nickel, 20-23% chromium, 8-10% molybdenum, and 3.15-4.15% niobium plus tantalum. They can handle both oxidising and reducing chemicals and still provide a minimum tensile strength of 827 MPa (120 ksi) from cryogenic temperatures up to 982°C (1800°F). With a PREN of about 51, they are almost completely resistant to pitting caused by chlorides, especially in the gasket‑to‑flange crevice area where corrosion usually starts. Because they combine strong resistance to different acids, high strength, and excellent pitting resistance, Nickel Alloy 625 is one of the most versatile flange materials for offshore, chemical, and marine piping systems.

The molybdenum and niobium strengthen the alloy without age hardening, so the flanges maintain full corrosion resistance even after forging. They are available in WNRF, SORF, BLRF, SWRF, threaded, lap joint, long weld neck (LWN), ring type joint (RTJ), spectacle blind, and reducing types. Standard sizes cover NPS 1/2″ to 24″ as per ASME B16.5 and NPS 26″ to 60″ as per ASME B16.47, in pressure classes from 150 to 2500. These flanges comply with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service and are supplied with EN 10204 3.1B material test certificates (MTC) and positive material identification (PMI).

Chemical Composition of Inconel 625 Flanges

Chemical composition of ASTM B564 UNS N06625 Inconel 625 flanges, with an analysis of alloying elements and their respective percentages:
Element Ni Cr Mo Nb+Ta Fe C Mn Si P S Al Ti Co
Alloy 625 58.0 min 20.0–23.0 8.0–10.0 3.15–4.15 5.0 max 0.10 max 0.50 max 0.50 max 0.015 max 0.015 max 0.40 max 0.40 max 1.0 max
Mo at 8-10% combined with Nb at 3.15-4.15% provides both corrosion resistance and solid-solution strengthening without precipitation hardening. Cr at 20-23% handles oxidising media. The Nb addition also stabilises the alloy against intergranular corrosion in the as-welded condition, eliminating the need for PWHT on flange-to-pipe joints.

Mechanical Properties of ASTM B564 Inconel 625 Flanges

Mechanical property summary of ASTM B564 Inconel 625 flanges, showing solution‑annealed forged strength, ductility, and compliance values:
Tensile Strength (min) Yield 0.2% Offset (min) Elongation in 4D (min)
827 MPa (120 ksi) 414 MPa (60 ksi) 30%
Solution treatment at 1093-1204°C (2000-2200°F) followed by air cool or faster sets these properties. The alloy derives strength from Mo and Nb in solid solution. For Grade 2 forgings used above 593°C, different property requirements may apply per ASTM B564 supplementary requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of Inconel 625 Flanges per kg in India?
In India, Inconel 625 flanges usually cost ₹2,800 to ₹4,500 per kg. The price changes with the flange type, size, and current nickel and chromium prices.

ERNiCrMo-3 (AWS A5.14) for GTAW; ENiCrMo-3 (AWS A5.11) for SMAW. No PWHT required.

ASTM B564 / ASME SB564 covers forged flanges, fittings, and valves in UNS N06625.

Yes. Solution-annealed Inconel 625 meets NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service. The alloy resists sulphide stress cracking and hydrogen embrittlement in H₂S-bearing environments.
Useful strength to 982°C (1800°F). Prolonged exposure between 650-850°C may cause delta-phase precipitation that reduces ductility. Verify with ASME B16.5 pressure-temperature ratings for sustained high-temperature service.
Both alloys perform reliably in mixed-acid environments. Inconel 625 offers higher strength (120 vs 100 ksi tensile) and holds up better at elevated temperatures, while Hastelloy C276 is usually the better choice when the main concern is reducing acids, especially hydrochloric acid (HCl). Select based on the dominant corrosion mechanism.
PREN ≈ 51 (This exceptionally high value means Alloy 625 flanges are virtually resistant to pitting in chloride environments: critical at gasket-to-flange crevice zones where pitting typically initiates.
