Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified supplier of Hastelloy C2000 round bars based in Mumbai, India. Alloy C-2000 (UNS N06200, Werkstoff 2.4675, EN NiCr23Mo16Cu) is a copper-bearing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy manufactured in accordance with ASTM B574 / ASME SB574.

The deliberate 1.6% copper addition is what sets this grade apart from every other Hastelloy. That copper synergises with 16% Mo to deliver a step-change improvement in sulfuric acid resistance at elevated temperatures, while 23% Cr (the highest in the C-family) handles oxidising media. 59% Ni (bal.) provides superior resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, and 3% Fe max. in Hastelloy C2000 round bar. Improves thermal stability and metallurgical purity. Minimum tensile reaches 690 MPa (100 ksi) with 276 MPa yield and 45% elongation in the solution-annealed condition at 1149°C (2100°F). Hastelloy C2000 density is 8.58 g/cm³, the lightest of the C-family (vs C22: 8.69, C276: 8.89). Melting range: 1328-1358°C. Nickel Alloy C2000 bar resists sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids in a single alloy. This alloy is engineered for the widest possible range of corrosive environments, including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids in a single alloy.

Diameters span 3-500 mm in lengths to 6000 mm. Forms include round bar, hex bar, flat bar, square bar, rectangular bar, forged bar, hollow bar, and rods. Surface finishes: black, bright, turned, peeled, polished. NACE MR-01-75 / ISO 15156 listed for sour service. Every shipment carries EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and PMI reports.

Copper at 1.3-1.9% is the defining element. No other C-type Hastelloy contains a deliberate Cu addition. This copper works with 16% Mo to push H₂SO₄ and HF resistance far beyond what C276 or C22 can achieve. Cr at 23% is the highest among C-type alloys (C276: 16%, C22: 22%), giving strong oxidising-media performance. Ultra-low C (0.01%) and Si (0.08%) keep the weld HAZ free of carbide precipitation.

Yield of 276 MPa is slightly lower than C22 (310 MPa) but comparable to C276 (283 MPa). The 45% elongation matches C22 and exceeds C276’s 40%, giving Alloy C-2000 bar good formability for complex machined components.

Machining, Hot Working & Heat Treatment of Hastelloy C2000 Round Bars

Hastelloy C2000 machining is moderate to difficult. Use carbide inserts at 15-25 m/min with positive rake and flood coolant. Hot work from 1232°C (2250°F) down to 954°C (1750°F) with moderate reductions and frequent reheating. Re-anneal after all hot work.

Solution anneal at 1149°C (2100°F), water quench. This is 28°C higher than C276 and C22 (both 1121°C). Hold 10-30 min. Re-anneal after >7% cold work. Weld by GTAW, GMAW, or SMAW using ERNiCrMo-17 (AWS A5.14) matching filler. No preheat required. The copper-bearing weld deposit retains full corrosion resistance.
