No other C-family alloy contains a deliberate copper addition. Hastelloy C2000 fasteners contain 1.6% copper together with 23% chromium and 16% molybdenum, providing a single bolting grade with outstanding resistance to oxidising media, reducing acids, and sulfuric acid across a wide range of service conditions. Where chemical plants handle H₂SO₄, HCl, HF, and oxidising acids in rotation, C2000 bolting eliminates the need to stock multiple alloy grades. It offers a tensile strength of 690 MPa (100 ksi), yield strength of 310 MPa (45 ksi), and minimum elongation of 45% (typically 62%), giving a strong yet ductile product. Available fastener types include hex bolts, heavy hex bolts, stud bolts, socket head cap screws (SHCS), hex nuts, heavy hex nuts, lock nuts, flat washers, threaded rods, U‑bolts, anchor bolts, set screws, and eye bolts. Standard sizes range from 1/2″ to 4″ or M12 to M100; smaller sizes may require bar stock availability checks.

C2000 is not covered by ASTM F468. Instead, fasteners are produced from ASTM B574 bar or forged to ASTM B564. They are solution annealed at 1149°C (2100°F) and comply with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156‑3. Production follows ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental standards.

The 1.3–1.9% copper is unique to C2000 among many Ni-Cr-Mo alloys. Cu provides sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid resistance that C276 and C22 cannot match. Combined with 23% Cr (oxidising resistance) and 16% Mo (reducing resistance), C2000 delivers the broadest single-alloy acid coverage available for fastener applications. Ultra-low C (0.01%) keeps the weld HAZ free of carbide precipitation.

The 62% typical elongation is the highest among C-family fasteners. This provides exceptional bolt ductility and fatigue resistance in cyclic thermal service, where bolt stretch under thermal expansion must not cause permanent set or gasket relaxation.
