Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022, Werkstoff 2.4602) delivers a CCT of 80°C in acidified 6% FeCl₃, 25°C, making C22 the most crevice-resistant Ni-Cr-Mo fitting grade available. The alloy’s nominal composition of 56% Ni, 22% Cr, 13% Mo, and 3% W with carbon ≤0.01% provides balanced resistance to both oxidising and reducing acids. Buttweld fittings (elbows, tees, reducers, caps, stub ends, crosses) conform to ASME B16.9. All fittings are solution annealed at ≥1121°C with rapid quench. Sizes span NPS 1/2″ to 24″ for buttweld.

No post-weld heat treatment is required after field welding C22 fittings to C22 or C276 pipe. Minimum tensile strength is 690 MPa (100 ksi) with 45% elongation in the solution-annealed condition. Applications include multipurpose CPI reactor piping, pharmaceutical process piping, FGD ducting, nuclear fuel reprocessing, and seawater cooling system fittings.

B366 buttweld fittings are made from B622 seamless pipe, B619 welded pipe, or B575 plate. At crevice-prone geometries, C22 fittings’ 22% Cr drives passive film stability and gives them an 80°C CCT advantage over C276 fittings (55°C).
