Incoloy 825 Pipes & Fittings Supplier in Mumbai, India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified supplier, importer, and stockist of Incoloy 825 pipes and fittings based in Mumbai, India. We supply seamless pipes as per ASTM B423 / ASME SB423, welded pipes as per ASTM B705/B775, condenser tubes as per ASTM B163, and buttweld fittings as per ASTM B366 (WPNICMC).

Incoloy 825 was designed for environments with sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and nitric acid in the same plant. This titanium-stabilised nickel-iron-chromium alloy resists both reducing and oxidising acids from a single composition. They consist of 38–46% Ni, 19.5–23.5% Cr, 2.5–3.5% Mo, 1.5–3.0% Cu, and 0.6–1.2% Ti. Molybdenum plus copper handle reducing media (H₂SO₄, H₃PO₄), chromium resists oxidising environments (HNO₃), and titanium prevents intergranular corrosion during welding and elevated-temperature service. Alloy 825 pipes and fittings are NACE MR-01-75 listed for sour gas (H₂S) environments.

Incoloy 825 is also known as UNS N08825 and Werkstoff 2.4858. It has a minimum tensile strength of 586 MPa (85 ksi), a yield strength of 241 MPa (35 ksi), and an elongation of 30%. Hardness is 90 HRB max. UNS N08825 pipe sizes range from NPS 1/2″ to 24″, SCH 5S through XXS. Buttweld fittings sizes range from NPS 1/2″ to 48″ (elbows, tees, reducers, caps, stub ends). Incoloy 825 is solution annealed at 940-980°C (1725-1800°F). Key industries include chemical processing, oil and gas, pollution control, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production, and marine.

Chemical Composition of Incoloy 825 Pipes & Fittings

As per ASTM B423, the chemical composition of Incoloy 825 pipes and fittings, and its key alloying elements are covered in the table below:
Material / Element Nickel (Ni) Iron (Fe) Chromium (Cr) Molybdenum (Mo) Copper (Cu) Titanium (Ti) Carbon (C) Manganese (Mn) Silicon (Si)
Min (%) 38.0 22.0 19.5 2.5 1.5 0.6
Max (%) 46.0 23.5 3.5 3.0 1.2 0.05 1.0 0.5
Nickel at 38–46% provides good resistance to chloride SCC. Chromium (19.5–23.5%) resists oxidising acids, including nitric acid. Mo (2.5–3.5%) plus Cu (1.5–3.0%) together resist reducing acids: sulfuric and phosphoric. Titanium (0.6–1.2%) stabilises the alloy against sensitisation and intergranular corrosion during welding and service at elevated temperatures.

Mechanical Properties of Incoloy 825 Pipes & Fittings

The mechanical properties of Incoloy 825 pipes and fittings in the annealed condition as per ASTM B423 are covered in the table below:
Property Tensile Strength (min) Yield 0.2% Offset (min) Elongation (min) Hardness (max)
Value 586 MPa (85 ksi) 241 MPa (35 ksi) 30% 90 HRB
Typical mill values exceed minimums: bar 690 MPa tensile, tubing 772 MPa. Charpy keyhole impact at –196°C: 91 J (longitudinal), confirming cryogenic toughness. Long-term service above approximately 540°C may reduce ductility due to microstructural changes.

Incoloy 825 Equivalent Grades

Frequently Asked Questions

What ASTM Standard Covers Incoloy 825 Seamless Pipe?
ASTM B423 / ASME SB423 covers seamless pipe and tube for N08825. Welded pipe: B705. Condenser tube: B163. Fittings: B366 (buttweld WPNICMC).
Yes. Listed in NACE MR-01-75 / ISO 15156 for H₂S environments. Seamless and welded forms approved in the annealed or stabilised condition.
ERNiCrMo-3 (FM 625) for GTAW. ENiCrMo-3 (Electrode 112) for SMAW. INCO-WELD 686CPT for the highest corrosion resistance. No preheat; interpass ≤150°C.
825 (42% Ni) offers dual acid resistance at moderate temperatures up to 540°C and a lower cost. 625 (62% Ni) provides higher tensile (827 vs 586 MPa), wider temperature range (to 982°C), and superior marine/pitting resistance (9% Mo). Choose 825 for acid service at moderate temperatures; 625 for higher strength or severe chloride environments.
