Incoloy 800/800H/800HT Pipes & Pipe Fittings

Incoloy 800/800H/800HT Pipes & Fittings Supplier in Mumbai, India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified supplier and stockist of Incoloy 800/800H/800HT pipes and fittings based in Mumbai, India. We supply seamless pipes per ASTM B407 / ASME SB407, welded pipes per ASTM B514/B515, condenser tubes per ASTM B163, buttweld fittings per ASTM B366, and forged fittings per ASTM B564.

All three share an iron-nickel-chromium base: 30-35% Ni, 19-23% Cr, 39.5% min Fe, providing oxidation, carburisation, and sulfidation resistance that austenitic stainless steels cannot match at elevated temperatures. Incoloy 800 (UNS N08800) handles service up to 593°C (1100°F). Incoloy 800H (N08810) pushes that to 816°C (1500°F) through mandated higher carbon and coarser grain size. Incoloy 800HT (N08811) goes further still, tightening Al+Ti to 0.85-1.20% and requiring annealing at 1149°C minimum to deliver the highest creep-rupture strength above 816°C.

At room temperature, all grades have a minimum tensile strength of 517 MPa (75 ksi) and a minimum elongation of 30%. The yield strength is 207 MPa (30 ksi) for Incoloy 800 and 172 MPa (25 ksi) for Incoloy 800H/800HT. Pipe sizes range from NPS 1/2″ to 24″ in schedules SCH 5S through XXS. Buttweld fittings are available from NPS 1/2″ to 48″ (elbows, tees, reducers, caps, stub ends). Forged fittings are supplied in pressure classes from 2000# to 9000#. Equivalent Werkstoff numbers: 1.4876 / 1.4958 / 1.4959. EN 10204/3.1 mill test certificates, and fast delivery from our Mumbai stock.

Chemical Composition of Incoloy 800/800H/800HT Pipes & Fittings

Chemical composition of Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT pipes and fittings, sharing one base alloy but varying in carbon and Al+Ti levels:
Material / Element Nickel (Ni) Chromium (Cr) Iron (Fe) Carbon (C) Al + Ti Grain Size Min Anneal
800 (N08800) 30.0-35.0 19.0-23.0 39.5 min 0.10 max 0.30-1.20 Not specified ~980°C
800H (N08810) 30.0-35.0 19.0-23.0 39.5 min 0.05-0.10 0.30-1.20 ASTM 5 or coarser ≥1038°C
800HT (N08811) 30.0-35.0 19.0-23.0 39.5 min 0.06-0.10 0.85-1.20 ASTM 5 or coarser ≥1149°C
The Fe-Ni-Cr base provides oxidation, carburisation, and sulfidation resistance. 800H mandates higher carbon (0.05-0.10%) and coarser grain for improved creep above 593°C. 800HT tightens Al+Ti to 0.85-1.20% with a higher anneal temperature, producing optimised gamma-prime precipitation for the highest creep-rupture strength. Nickel at 30-35% prevents sigma-phase embrittlement during prolonged high-temperature exposure.

Mechanical Properties of Incoloy 800/800H/800HT Pipes & Fittings

Mechanical performance of Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT pipes and fittings, showing room-temperature values per ASTM B407 in the annealed condition:
Property Tensile (min) Yield 0.2% (min) Elongation (min)
800 (N08800) 517 MPa (75 ksi) 207 MPa (30 ksi) 30%
800H (N08810) 517 MPa (75 ksi) 172 MPa (25 ksi) 30%
800HT (N08811) 517 MPa (75 ksi) 172 MPa (25 ksi) 30%
800H and 800HT show lower room-temperature yield because the coarser grain (ASTM 5 or coarser) needed for creep resistance reduces yield at ambient conditions. The real advantage appears above 593°C: 800HT provides higher ASME allowable design stresses than 800H at 650-900°C per Code Case 1987. At 816°C, Alloy 800 tensile drops to ~172 MPa; 800H/HT retains 138-172 MPa with significantly better rupture life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Incoloy 800 and 800HT?
Alloy 800 variants share a Ni-Fe-Cr base. 800H uses higher carbon and coarse grains for creep resistance; 800HT restricts Al+Ti, needs higher annealing, and qualifies as 800H but not vice versa.
ASTM B407 / ASME SB407 covers all three grades (N08800, N08810, N08811). Welded pipe: B514. Fittings: B366 (buttweld).
Service above 816°C (1500°F), with intermittent use up to ~1100°C. ASME Code Case 1987 provides allowable design stresses. For higher continuous temperatures, consider Inconel 600 (up to 1093°C).
Depends on grade (800/800H/800HT), size, schedule, quantity, and nickel market rates. Contact Nicorex Alloys for current pricing.
ERNiCr-3 (FM 82) for GTAW or ERNiCrMo-3 (FM 625). SMAW: ENiCrFe-3 (Electrode 182). No preheat; interpass ≤150°C. Solution annealing after welding is recommended for optimum creep properties.
800HT’s tighter Al+Ti (0.85-1.20% vs 0.30-1.20%) and higher anneal (≥1149°C vs ≥1038°C) produce optimised gamma-prime precipitation, giving higher ASME allowable stresses above 816°C. This can enable thinner pipe walls, reducing material cost and weight.
