Nickel Round Bar

Nickel Round Bar Supplier in Mumbai, India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified stockist and supplier of Nickel round bars in Mumbai, India. We stock Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 in diameters from 5 mm to 500 mm under ASTM B160 / ASME SB-160.

Nickel 200 and 201 are commercially pure wrought nickel alloys (minimum 99.0% Ni) known for resistance to caustic alkalis, good thermal and electrical conductivity, and ferromagnetic properties. Stocked forms include round, hex, square, flat, forged, bright, and electrode bars. These bars serve chemical processing, chlor-alkali, food processing, marine, electronics, pharmaceutical, and power generation industries. All shipments carry EN 10204/3.1B mill test certificates.

We stock a wide range of Nickel Round Bar in multiple grades, including:

What are Nickel Round Bars?

Nickel round bars are solid cylindrical products made from commercially pure wrought nickel (minimum 99.0% Ni). The two primary grades are Nickel 200 and Nickel 201, often supplied as dual-certified bar stock. ASTM B160 also covers Nickel 211 (UNS N02211).

Nickel 200 (0.15% max carbon) is limited to service below 600°F (315°C) because higher carbon causes graphitisation and brittleness. Nickel 201 (0.02% max carbon) is approved up to 1250°F (677°C). Nickel bars offer thermal conductivity of 70.2 W/m·K and strong resistance to caustic alkalis at all concentrations.

Available Grades of Nickel Round Bars

Nicorex Alloys stocks Nickel round bars in 2 grades.

Nickel 200 Round Bar

Nickel 200 is a commercially pure nickel with 0.15% max carbon. Bars resist caustic alkalis at all concentrations and offer high electrical conductivity. 200 is ferromagnetic at room temperature. Its service is limited to below 600°F (315°C). This grade is used for cathode elements, plater bars, and food processing shafts.

Nickel 201 Round Bar

Nickel 201 is a low-carbon version of Nickel 200 (0.02% max C), approved up to 1250°F (677°C) per ASME Section VIII Div 1. Its lower work-hardening rate suits the cold heading of fasteners. 201 is used for caustic evaporator internals, combustion boats, and high-temperature electrodes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Nickel Round Bar used for?
Nickel round bars are primarily used for cathode and anode elements in chlor-alkali electrolysis, plater bars in electroplating, electrode bars for electronic components, valve stems and pump shafts for caustic handling, food processing equipment hardware, and precision-machined components.
ASTM B160 / ASME SB-160 covers Nickel 200 (UNS N02200), Nickel 201 (UNS N02201), and Nickel 211 (UNS N02211). AMS 5553 covers aerospace nickel bar.
Specify Nickel 201 when operating temperature exceeds 600°F (315°C). Nickel 200 risks graphitisation above this point. Nickel 201 (0.02% max C) is ASME approved up to 1250°F (677°C).
Diameters range from 5 mm to 500 mm. Common stocking sizes are 10 mm to 300 mm. Lengths are 100 mm to 6000 mm.
Yes. Both grades have excellent cold formability. Nickel 201 suits cold heading better due to its lower work-hardening rate.
The weight formula for Nickel round bar is: Weight (kg) = π/4 × D²(mm) × L(mm) × 8.89 × 10⁻⁶.
