- Corrosion Resistant Alloys Welding Wire
Corrosion resistant alloys welding wire is designed to join metals that must survive harsh chemical and thermal environments. These filler wires contain high levels of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. This chemistry forms a stable passive layer on the weld deposit. That layer shields the joint from acids, chlorides, and other aggressive media.
Key performance features of corrosion resistant filler wire include strong resistance to pitting, crevice attack, and stress corrosion cracking. The weld deposit keeps its strength across a wide range of temperatures. Thermal stability prevents harmful phases from forming during welding and post-weld heat treatment. Matching filler chemistry to the base metal preserves the full corrosion resistance of the original alloy.
Engineers choose corrosion resistant welding wire when the service environment involves strong acids, mixed oxidising-reducing chemicals, or high-chloride solutions. Standard stainless steel fillers often fail in these conditions because their chromium and molybdenum levels are too low. Nickel-base filler wires fill this gap by delivering higher alloy content right at the weld joint, which is the most vulnerable point in any fabrication.
Common applications include chemical processing reactors, flue gas desulfurization systems, pharmaceutical equipment, pulp and paper bleaching lines, and offshore oil and gas piping. Any environment where acid exposure, chloride stress, or mixed-chemical attack is present calls for these grades.
Nicorex Alloys is a trusted supplier and stockist of corrosion resistant alloys welding wire. Based in Mumbai, we supply these grades to chemical plants, refineries, power stations, and fabrication shops across India.
