S32760 Pipes & Pipe Fittings

Super Duplex S32760 Pipes & Pipe Fittings Supplier in Mumbai, India

Nicorex Alloys is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified supplier for Super Duplex Stainless Steel S32760 pipes and fittings based in Mumbai, India. We provide these flanges, manufactured in accordance with ASTM A790/A789 (seamless), A928 (EFW) standards.

Super Duplex S32760 composition consists of 24-26% Cr, 6-8% Ni, 3-4% Mo, 0.5-1.0% W, 0.5-1.0% Cu, 0.20-0.30% N, and C ≤0.030%. PREN is at least 40; using the modified PREw formula (which includes tungsten), typical values are about 42-44, indicating very high pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. UNS S32760 (Werkstoff 1.4501), commercially known as Zeron 100, is a super duplex austenitic-ferritic stainless steel with approximately 50/50 phase balance. The super duplex stainless steel grade S32760 incorporates deliberate additions of tungsten (0.5-1.0%) and copper (0.5-1.0%) in its composition. Tungsten improves pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in acidic chloride media. Copper improves resistance to sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), so S32760 is the preferred super duplex grade for acid leach mining and pickling. We supply seamless and welded pipes, along with matching buttweld fittings. The minimum tensile strength is 750 MPa (109 ksi), the yield strength is 550 MPa (80 ksi), and the elongation is 25%, indicating good ductility. The material can absorb 45 J of impact energy at -46°C, and it is recommended to use it at temperatures up to about 300°C (570°F).

Pipes supplied to EN 10216-5 / EN 10217-7 (1.4501), with buttweld fittings to ASTM A815. Certified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service. Available in sizes from NPS 1/2″ to 24″ in schedules 5S to XXS. It is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certification.

Chemical Composition of Super Duplex S32760 Pipes & Fittings

Chemical composition of Super Duplex S32760 pipes and fittings, with focus on tungsten and copper benefits, is listed below:
Material / Element Chromium (Cr) Nickel (Ni) Molybdenum (Mo) Tungsten (W) Copper (Cu) Nitrogen (N) Carbon (C) Iron (Fe)
S32760 (%) 24.0-26.0 6.0-8.0 3.0-4.0 0.50-1.00 0.50-1.00 0.20-0.30 0.030 max Balance
Tungsten improves pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in acidic chloride environments. It contributes to PREN when using the modified formula: PREw = %Cr + 3.3(%Mo + 0.5×%W) + 16×%N ≈42-44. Copper provides resistance to sulfuric acid, a critical property S32750 cannot offer. These W+Cu additions are the defining difference between the two super duplex grades. Low carbon (≤0.030%) minimises carbide precipitation during welding.

Mechanical Properties of Super Duplex S32760 Pipes & Fittings

Mechanical characteristics of Super Duplex S32760 pipes and fittings, based on EN 10088-3 and ASTM A790 requirements for solution-annealed condition.
Material / Property Tensile Strength (min) Yield Strength 0.2% (min) Elongation (min) Hardness (max) Charpy Impact (min)
S32760 750 MPa (109 ksi) 550 MPa (80 ksi) 25% 32 HRC (310 HBW) 45 J at -46°C
Yield of 550 MPa matches S32750 and is ~2.5x that of 316L (220 MPa). S32760 has 25% elongation, compared to 15% for S32750, which means S32760 is more ductile and tougher. Impact energy of 45 J at -46°C is also higher than S32750’s 27 J minimum. Hardness max 32 HRC per NACE MR0175 for sour service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which ASTM Standards apply to S32760 Fittings?
ASTM A815 / ASME SA815 covers buttweld fittings (WPS32760). Pipe per ASTM A790 (seamless/welded), A789 (tube), A928 (EFW).
Buttweld fittings follow schedule-based ratings per ASME B16.9.
A super duplex stainless steel pipe (PREN ≥40) with tungsten and copper additions. UNS S32760 / Werkstoff 1.4501, commercially known as Zeron 100. The W+Cu give it sulfuric acid resistance that S32750 lacks.
Offshore oil and gas (sour service), acid leach mining (the primary driver for S32760 over S32750), chemical processing, desalination, marine, power generation, and pulp and paper.
Solution annealing at 1100-1140°C followed by rapid water or air quench. This restores the 50/50 austenite-ferrite phase balance. PWHT is not required and not recommended due to sigma phase risk.
