ERNiFeCr-1 Welding Wire - Filler Metal 65 TIG and MIG Wire Supplier in India

Nicorex Alloys is a Mumbai–based stockist and supplier of ERNiFeCr-1 welding wire, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. We provide ERNiFeCr-1 welding wire according to AWS A5.14 and ASME SFA A5.14 standards.

Incoloy 825 weld metal contains 1.5-3.0% copper and 2.5-3.5% molybdenum. ERNiFeCr-1, also called Incoloy Filler Metal 65 or Alloy 65, is the correct matching TIG and MIG filler wire and is classified under AWS A5.14 / ASME SFA-5.14 (UNS N08065). According to AWS A5.14, ERNiFeCr-1 weld metal must achieve at least 550 MPa (80 ksi) tensile strength, 241 MPa (35 ksi) yield strength and 25% elongation. Titanium (0.6-1.2%) and niobium (0.50-2.50%) tie up carbon and help prevent intergranular corrosion. This wire can be used in all welding positions with DCEN for TIG or DCEP for MIG, using 100% argon shielding gas and keeping the interpass temperature below 150°C (300°F). Thanks to its specific copper and molybdenum content, Incoloy 825 is widely used in sulphuric and phosphoric acid plants and in sour gas systems where high corrosion resistance is required.

We stock TIG welding rods in diameters from 1.6 mm to 3.2 mm and MIG welding wire from 0.8 mm to 1.6 mm. They are ready for fast shipment across India and to international locations. Major industries that utilise Incoloy 825 are chemical, oil and gas, fertiliser, nuclear, marine and pollution control industries. Every order is supplied with EN 10204/3.1B mill test certificates for full material traceability.

ERNiFeCr-1 Filler Metal 65 in Industrial Welding Applications

ERNiFeCr-1 filler metal is used in corrosive chemical processing environments to produce strong, corrosion-resistant welds on critical equipment in demanding industries.
Industrial Applications

ERNiFeCr-1 Wire Storage and Handling

  1. Store TIG rods and MIG spools in original sealed packaging in clean, dry conditions at 15-25°C
  2. No heated oven storage is required (bare wire, not coated electrode)
  3. Keep the wire surface free from oil, grease, shop dust and carbon steel contamination.
  4. Carbon steel contamination on nickel alloy wire causes pitting corrosion in service; use dedicated stainless/nickel-only storage and handling equipment
  5. If the wire surface is contaminated, wipe with acetone or isopropyl alcohol before use.
  6. Partially used MIG spools should be resealed in poly bags.
  7. TIG rods are shipped in sealed tubes; do not remove until ready to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of ERNiFeCr-1 welding wire per Kg in India?
ERNiFeCr-1 wire in India usually costs ₹5,000–₹12,000 per kg, depending on size, order quantity and approvals. Contact Nicorex Alloys for an exact quote.
ERNiCrMo-3 can be used instead of ERNiFeCr-1, but it has only 0.50% copper, not 1.5-3.0%. In reducing acids, ERNiFeCr-1’s higher copper gives better corrosion resistance than ERNiCrMo-3.
Keep interpass below 150°C (300°F). Higher heat causes carbides and reduces corrosion resistance.
The first weld layer mixes with 20-40% iron from the base metal, lowering copper and molybdenum too much. So, a buffer layer of ERNiCr-3 or ERNi-1 is usually applied first.
TIG rods are available in 1.6, 2.0, 2.4 and 3.2 mm, supplied in 5 kg tubes (1000 mm length). MIG wire comes in 0.8-1.6 mm on D200 (12.5 kg) and D300 (15 kg) spools with EN 10204 3.1 MTC.
ERNiFeCr-1 (Filler Metal 65) matches Incoloy 825 with added copper and molybdenum for acid resistance. ERNiFeCr-2 suits Incoloy 800/800H and has no copper.
